Studie sites
The research will be concentrated at two small-scale studie sites; Norsminde and Holtum catchment, where field experiments and observation will be combined with hydrological modelling. Norsminde catchment is 100 km2 and situated in a hilly landscape consisting mainly of clayey till soil and confined sandy aquifers. Holtum catchment is 126 km2 and is an upstream sub-catchment of the larger Skjern river catchment. The catchment is located on flat outwash plain with sandy soils and surficial unconfined aquifers. Land use is dominated by intensive farming at both sites. In Norsminde the agricultural area is well drained, while drainage is sparse in Holtum.
